So there was a team meet this weekend and my colleagues decided to visit this place called “153 Biere Street” in Whitefield. It is located behind Forum Value mall and it was raining so we struggled a bit to reach this place. But as soon as you enter, it seems like a completely different world. It takes you back to the Europe from a Victorian era. Small shops by the side, pavements with little plants smiling at you, sepia lights to give a more authentic feel and drizzling Bangalore weather is icing on the cake.
Beer : As the name suggests, they are known for beer. They have traditional Golden ale, wheat beer and then there is a seasonal flavor. I did not take alcohol but my team members did have good words to say about their beer. Unfortunately couldn't capture any beer photos
Location: Behind Forum Value Mall, Whitefield
Price: A dinner for two will be around Rs 2500/-. Yes, it is expensive. Each dish will cost ~400-500 and portion size is only for a single person. And then you will also order alcohol, dessert, starters. And then you also have to pay VAT, Service tax and Service charge.
All in all, it is a nice place. Great food, good conversation and nice service is the perfect recipe for spending an evening to remember.
They have a microbrewery which offers their traditional beer along with seasonal flavors. The seating area is quite big, but do bother to make a reservation because it is generally full even on weekdays. One section has a big screen which displays the latest sports matches going on and another section is called as Mustard and Cress which has the view of the bar and outside little shops.
Ambiance: The overall entry to this place is very nice, but seating area could have been better. Good for team meetings, or with larger friend groups or reunions. Although it reminds of Europe from the Victorian era, do not go there for romantic dinner – choose a place with softer ambiance rather.

Food: Awesome is the word for all the food items I tasted there. The pictures will say for itself. Here are the some of the dishes that I tried -
Starters -
- Spicy Pickle marinated Cottage cheese skewers with mango chutney - Tastes like a typical Paneer Tikka, did not get the mango chutney flavor
- Spicy yogurt marinated chicken with coriander chutney - Nice juicy spicy chicken - total desi flavor
- Main Course -
- English style Chicken tikka masla, basmati rice, mango chutney and poppadums- This was rather a very creamy butter chicken - nicely cooked in cashew and tomato gravy - Must try this dish if you are a fan to butter chicken.. I am so I absolutely loved this.
Pizza - Seemed very tasty - thin crust pizza - very international flavor - must try
Some more food pictures -
Please note there is a dessert with a name of Mishti Doi, many of the Bengalis in my team ordered but were disappointed to see there is no Mishti Doi in that, it is red velvet cake topped with Yogurt (not the Bengali mishit doi)
Service : Very good. They even bring a small pastry cake if
you tell them that you are celebrating a birthday in the group. Go for it.Some more food pictures -
